Live Webinar Event- The Great Face Paint with Painter Master Marilyn Sholin

This webinar will only concentrate on painting faces, hair and skin in multiple methods. You will learn at least three different ways to paint faces, eyes, hair and skin. Each method will leave a different painterly effect and it’s up to you to practice and see which one is right for your paintings. While this will concentrate on painting from photo reference, the methods of painting will vary. The same image will be used for each lesson to impress the differences in the finished painting effect.

As a special bonus, the set of brushes Marilyn uses in the webinar will be available as a free download in the Digital Paint Shop and on Marilyn’s Blog after the webinar ends. Also, a special discount will be arranged on all of Marilyn’s educational materials for 24 hours after the webinair ends and the discount code will be given at the end of the presentation.

Video is in WMV ( Windows Media Format) and runs just over an hour. Mac users will need to install Flip4Mac to view WMV files.

Learn how Jeremy sets up and optimize his Wacom tablet and Corel Painter 11 to work most efficiently together.


3. Demo: A Fun and Creative Way to Use Auto-Painting & Paper Texture


You won’t want to miss this! Quick and easy, yet still creative and fun. Auto-painting offers lots of exciting possibilities when combined with other techniques. Paper texture is one of the hidden gems of Painter that offers much more than emulating physical paper…

4. Demo: Painting Eyes – Capturing the Soul of Your Subject

Jeremy demonstrates how he brings out the life of his subject in his paintings by working into the eyes with freehand brush strokes and a multitude of colors, going far beyond the color and tone information contained within the source photograph.

5. Wrap Up – Where to Go From Here

Suggestions for developing your art in Painter that include making an art action plan, looking at art books, visiting museums and galleries, taking traditional drawing classes, carrying a sketch book, making the most of instructional Painter resources such as classes (online and offline), books, DVDs and web sites.

Digital Art Academy Adds Traditional Media Courses

daa-twitter-avatarDigital Art Academy recently  introduced natural media drawing and painting classes to its curriculum. “We hope to further enhance our skills as digital artists with natural media drawing and painting classes”, says Karen Bonaker founder and Administrator for Digital Art Academy an online digital art school. “Traditional skills help the digital artist strengthen their process, from perspective to color and design”.

DAA Instructor Tim Shelbourne will be teaching The Magic of Pencil-Drawing for Beginners. Tim crosses the barriers and invites digital and traditional artist to work together in this class which will help strengthen your drawing skills. This is the first of a series of traditional drawing and painting classes coming to Digital Art Academy.
