Introduction to Painter 12: Part 3
Instructor: Elaina Moore-Kelly
Description
This class is a continuation of your Painter 12 education, and builds on the skills you learned in Introduction to Painter 12 Part 1 and Introduction to Painter 12 Part 2. Now that you’ve learned the basics, you will explore some of the wonderful resources which Corel Painter 12 makes available to you as a digital artist. You will learn how to turn Painter into your own personal art supply store, how to create custom art supplies and custom palettes on which to store those supplies, and how to back up your custom items in case of a program crash. Along the way, there will be some surprises, you’ll create an image using your new skills, and hopefully, have fun while you learn.

Skill Level
Intermediate
Prerequisites: Before taking this class please be sure you have completed all of the lessons in the Introduction to Corel Painter 12: Part 1 and Introduction to Corel Painter 12: Part 2 classes.
Software Requirements
- Corel Painter 12 updated to version 12.2 with all patches, hot fixes and updates installed. Please go to this page and download any missing updates and/or patches.
- Microsoft® Windows® XP (SP3), Vista or 7, or Apple® Mac OS® X operating system
- Adobe® Reader or equivalent software for reading lessons.
Hardware Requirements
- A computer capable of running Corel® Painter™ 12
- A pressure sensitive graphics tablet, such as those made by Wacom
Note: Corel® Painter™ has been optimized to integrate seamlessly with a pressure sensitive graphics tablet such as the inexpensive Wacom Bamboo, or the multi-featured Wacom Intuos. Although you can use the program with a mouse, you will find many of its features to be most effective with a tablet. You may want to consider buying one at some point in time.
There is initially a bit of a learning curve, but once you begin to use the tablet and pen in conjunction with Painter (and many other programs) you will be both amazed and excited by how real the painting and drawing effects seem as you work.
