This class is a continuation of Painter 12 Part 1. In the first week we will pick up right where we left off last time with a lesson which covers Layers and how to use them effectively when creating an image. In the weeks which follow you will learn  about the different methods Painter offers  for creating selections, how to use the Transformation tools, how to create and use a Layer mask and more.

I think you will find this class even more fun that the previous one, especially since this time around you will be more comfortable with what you are doing. By the time you finish this series of lessons you will be well on your way to an understanding of the way many of the basic tools in Painter work, and how to create beautiful images using Corel Painter

Please note: Students must have a working knowledge of their operating system, especially:

1. How to create and name new folders.
2. How to locate files in their computers
3. How to open and save files
4. How to unzip files

Software Requirements

• Microsoft® Windows® (XP SP3), Microsoft® Windows® Vista or 7, or Apple® Mac OS® X operating system
• Corel® Painter™ 12
• Service Pack 1 (The most current Service Pack as of this posting)
• Adobe® Reader or equivalent software for reading lessons.

Hardware Requirements

Note: Corel® Painter™ has been optimized to integrate seamlessly with a pressure sensitive graphics tablet such as the inexpensive Wacom Bamboo, or the multi-featured Wacom Intuos. Although you can use the program with a mouse, you will find many of its features to be most effective with a tablet. You may want to consider buying one at some point in time.

There is initially a bit of a learning curve, but once you begin to use the tablet and pen in conjunction with Painter (and many other programs) you will be both amazed and excited by how real the painting and drawing effects seem as you work.

THIS CLASS WILL RETURN SESSION TWO 2012

In this class, you will learn to incorporate a combination of collage and digi-scrap techniques to make four different projects. In the process, I hope to teach you a few new tricks about Painter. Your finished projects will be suitable for printing, either to hang on your walls or to use for greeting cards (my favorite use of computer graphics).

 Note: This class is suitable for users of Corel® Painter[TM]IX.5, Corel® Painter[TM] X or Corel® Painter[TM] 11. In areas where Painter 11 differs from Painter 9.5/X, appropriate annotations have been made.

Please Note: This is a self-study class. Instructor support is only provided on a limited basis.
