Anne Carter Hargrove
Anne Carter-Hargrove has been involved in photography and art since her first job as a photography lighting assistant as a teenager. She began using Photoshop and Painter about 5 years ago as a creative balance to her psychology career. Her current focus is the embellishment of digital prints - using acrylic gels and paint on prints to enhance the texture and uniqueness of the digital work. She has found that many digital artists are proficient with a mouse, but have never actually held a paintbrush or used real paint, and is interested in helping these artists experience (in a non-intimidating way) the joy of stepping away from the monitor for a while and playing with real paint and gel. Anne is also working with various ways of incorporating texture into digital art, both in the computer and after printing.
She has a portrait studio specializing in painted portraits (www.CahootsPortraits.com) where she creates portraits for individual clients, photographers, and interior designers. She has also released DVD tutorials on embellishment of digital prints (www.cadmiumdreams.com), and published articles on digital print embellishment and using textures in Painter for Corel Painter Magazine. Anne lives with her husband and 5 children (who now demand payment for modeling), burros, goats, chickens, dogs and cats on 10 acres in Northern Nevada.
