Scott Deardorff

Scott Deardorff is a digital artist whose tools of choice are his Macintosh computer, Wacom tablet and Adobe Photoshop. His background is photography. When he received his degree from Cal State Fullerton’s School of Communications, he was honored as the outstanding photo-communications student in his graduating class. He has worked with both digital and traditional photographic media in every format from SLR, to medium format, to 4×5. Most of his experience in photography has been in the wedding and portrait field. In recent years he has worked to fully understand and utilize the creative potential of Photoshop. His favorite Photoshop technique involves using the smudge tool to change images - mainly portraits of people and animals - into digital paintings, which can then be printed on canvas or other media. He takes pride in - and works hard to achieve - a style that is painterly, yet photographically precise.
