Hello, students! In order to produce stunning paintings like Bob Ross, I will demonstrate in this lesson how to install a brush library and use my incredible Rebelle 7 brushes. You will discover how to replicate his aesthetic and produce lifelike effects using digital techniques.

This lesson will be enjoyable, and you will gain new knowledge. Take your paintings to a new level with my brushes and Rebelle 7!

I keep most of my ideas in the form of reference images. When I travel, I capture captivating compositions of color, light, shape, emotion, or narrative that I want to depict in a painting. I can store these concepts in photos and use them when I paint.

I usually browse through my phone's pictures first when I want to begin a new painting. This is where I store years' worth of ideas and where I get most of my inspiration. I also have a favorite album that contains pictures that I think have potential.

Remember, the photos represent ideas, and it’s the ideas I want to base my paintings on. The photos are flawed by nature; they don’t capture how I see and experience the world. A photo cannot capture the wind, rain, movement, feelings, what happened before and after taking the photo, or what’s happening outside the photo. It’s just a snapshot from that point in time. As artists, our job is to capture all this other stuff. That's what makes our work unique. But when we begin to paint, it is my ultimate task to evoke all the feelings in the finished painting, and it will be yours as well.

Bob Ross frequently painted a scene from start to finish, even though he rarely used photos as references for his paintings. So our task is to learn both from reference and the serendipitous! 

You will learn important information and useful techniques in your lessons that are essential for any digital artist.

I will go over some fundamental rules for painting landscapes with you, like how to depict water reflections and what color to paint the skies.

I will talk about using the Mixing Palette and the color samples I will be providing for the class in this segment.
